We eat a lot of salads at my house. Like a lot a lot. Unfortunately, many store bought salad dressings have a bunch of sketchy ingredients in them, which I’m trying to be better about avoiding. Sometimes I just use lemon juice or oil and vinegar, but last night I wanted to whip up something a bit fancier. This quick homemade balsamic vinaigrette dressing is made with easy ingredients that are probably in your kitchen already. This recipe makes about a week’s worth of dressing for us and only takes a couple minutes to prepare.
1 cup of extra virgin olive oil
1/2 cup of balsamic vinegar
1 tablespoon of red wine vinegar
1 1/2 tablespoon of Italian seasoning
1/4 teaspoon of freshly ground black pepper
Pour all of the ingredients into a pint sized mason jar.
Shake it up before using.
Store in the fridge or in the pantry, then shake up, pour onto a salad, and enjoy! All of the ingredients are shelf stable, so it will be good in the pantry for a while. What are your favorite salad dressing recipes?
